Special exhibition of Go Hui-dong at his old house
Go Hui-dong (1886-1965) was the first painter who learnt Western art techniques from Japan, but he soon he established himself as an ink painter after studying abroad. In this respect, it is regarded that he put much more significance on reinterpreting the long tradition of Oriental painting than pursuing oil painting. On the event of the 50th anniversary of his death, this special exhibition brings together a selection of his ink paintings that signal key changes in his artistic development.
